On various occasions, certain feature or component of Avast antivirus stops working, this is when one needs to perform repair to its installation. Repairing the program will fix its outdated, corrupt or missing files. Basically, it will reset software configuration, you will even lose some of your customized settings. To repair the program, you can use Avast setup wizard from Control Panel of Windows. • Right-click Windows Start button and select Programs and features.
• Look for your antivirus program from the list and right-click your Avast antivirus version.
• From the drop down menu, select change.
• This will open Avast setup wizard, there click on Repair button.
• The software will start updating. When the update gets finished, click Done. Windows 8
• Press Windows + R key and select “Programs and Features”.
• Right-click your Avast version and select Change.
• Avast Setup wizard will appear, click Repair.
• When the update gets complete, simply click Done. Windows Vista
• Open Control Panel and click Programs.
• Under Programs, select “Uninstall a Program” and then select your Avast antivirus from list.
• Now click Change from the drop menu.
• When Avast Setup wizard appear, click Repair.
• When the Repair gets complete, click Done.
